Our organization, Compassion Teenage Mothers Community-Based Organization, is located in Zombe, Kitui County, Kenya. We were founded as an outreach program dedicated to restoring dignity to the less fortunate by empowering young mothers and providing for their babies in environmentally sustainable ways. Our mission is to rescue, educate, and empower traumatized teenage mothers—many of whom are survivors of rape, forced marriages, and the harrowing practice of Female Genital Mutilation. These young girls are often coerced into unions with men not of their choosing and far beyond their age. Our vision is to cultivate compassion, unity, prosperity, and continuity as a development-oriented organization.
